About the Glendale Sports Center

Affordable or convenient: Pick one.  Not here!  Too often, finding and joining a gym or health club becomes a confrontation with that false choice.

You can drive far from your home, work out on less-than-stellar equipment, and work around limited hours. If that doesn’t suit you, you’re going to pay for it.

Glendale Sports Center upends that equation. Set in the heart of Glendale, Colorado, which itself is a focal point in the Denver metro area, it doesn’t take much to convince someone of its convenience factor. It’s value proposition, however, does tend to surprise.

Glendale, Colorado, sits at the crossing of Alameda Avenue and Colorado Boulevard. For those taking advantage of living in Glendale or the surrounding area, the Glendale Sports Center is a short bike ride away. For the tens of thousands of commuters who pass by every day, it’s no more than a mile off the road—ideal for working out before or after the work day. Nearly everyone can find time to work out during the center’s weekday hours of 5:30 a.m. until 9 p.m.

Glendale Sports Center

The facility itself is part of Infinity Park, the nation’s premier rugby stadium. The building’s generous size means you won’t be waiting in line for the treadmill. But, then again, with options including Technogym cardio and weight equipment, yoga, Pilates, an exercise studio, group exercise classes, and Zumba all included with a membership, logging a few miles on the treadmill might not be what you had in mind. With a healthy class size, fitness classes are an easy way to stay motivated and keep coming back. Kettleball classes, boot camps, pilates, meditation, yoga, silver sneakers, and many more comprise an impressive lineup that starts at 6 a.m. and lasts until 7 p.m. on weekdays.

At almost any other gym of similar quality and with the same array of options, you might spend upward of four figures per year. But, at Glendale Sports Center, a Glendale resident can purchase a monthlong membership for the price of a couple coffees. A family pass for a month is about $20. Those who don’t live in Glendale can also take advantage of the Sports Center for a fraction of what similar amenities would cost elsewhere.

All told, the Glendale Sports Center eliminates the false choice of quality or affordability. In its place, it leaves another, more important question: When are you going to join?

RugbyTown, USA

The future of Glendale, Colorado, rests on an unusual premise: It will be built around rugby. This endeavor can’t be explained in one or two words. It challenges the traditional understanding of what a community project is. It’s an example of what smart, public-private partnerships can accomplish.

Why rugby? The sport embodies the city of Glendale. Glendale is a small town amid a major metropolitan area. Despite its seemingly small stature, Glendale has a big personality, and has built itself to reflect that, while remaining grounded in who it is. Glendale values hard work, creativity, and dedication to the task at hand—values expressed in rugby’s tough-yet-elegant ethos. The game is inclusive, welcoming men and women, young and old, to watch and to play. It challenges the mind and the body, and it is a true team sport—it’s a sport of shared victory, not superstars.

The result is something we call RugbyTown, USA. It’s the attitude, the character, the “this is who we are.” It’s teamwork, grit, and celebration. Vision, execution, and excellence. It’s a long-term vision with day-to-day implications for everyone in the Denver metro area.

The cornerstone of Infinity Park is rugby, but that doesn’t mean it’s just a place to watch other people be active. Infinity Park was built to be a catalyst for activity for everyone. Since its opening in 2008, Glendale Sports Center has helped tens of thousands of people become fitter, healthier, and happier.
