Our after-school childcare program is hosting a toiletry drive that will start on Monday, October 2nd and last until Friday, November 3rd. All donations will go to SafeHouse Denver, a domestic violence crisis shelter. The shelter is grateful for all new/ unopened donations, but is particularly in need of face soap and lotion, body wash and lotion, African American hair care products, hairspray, and styling gel. Donation drop off boxes will be located in the lobby and in the child care room. If you have any questions, feel free to email our childcare site director, Cheyenne Murano-Thomas, at email@example.com
YOUTH IN GOVERNMENT
For three months every year, teens can learn about the state’s democratic system, and how laws and government shape people’s lives. They explore all major aspects of state government, filling roles as politicians, lobbyists, attorneys, and journalists. Then they convene for a mock general session at the State Capitol where they write bills, lobby, debate, and vote, all using the house floor, senate chambers, and offices of the State Capitol. This is the only program of its kind that offers this type of experience and access to Colorado’s legislative offices. The fall 2017 session is forming now. Click here to join!
