Denver rugby: Welcome to Rugbytown USA
Glendale, Colo. is Rugbytown USA, a city dedicated to the developing the best Denver rugby programs. Infinity Park, just minutes from downtown Denver, features a 4,000-seat rugby stadium — the nation’s only municipally owned, rugby-specific stadium. The stadium and adjacent IRB-sanctioned synthetic-turf field serve as the home of the Glendale Raptors Men’s and Women’s club teams, national and international elite rugby tournaments, and high school and youth programs. Rugby is one of the nation’s fastest-growing team sports¹, played by a half-million U.S. children a year².
Rugby in Colorado
Rugby in Colorado took off in 2007 with the opening of Infinity Park in Glendale. Since its opening, Infinity Park has hosted Rugby Colorado programs, USA Rugby National Championship Series and dozens of national and international rugby tournaments including the Churchill Cup, an alliance between England’s Rugby Football Union, Rugby Canada and USA Rugby. Today, Infinity Park hosts league play and elite tournaments for men’s and women’s rugby teams from across the globe.
The future of rugby in Colorado and Denver rugby
The future is bright for rugby in Colorado as Infinity Park’s reputation grows in the U.S. and internationally. Sold-out test matches, long-term elite tournament partnerships and the consistent competitiveness of the Raptors teams ensure the best Denver rugby is yet to come. As rugby — the second-most popular sport in the world — continues to explode in growth in the United States, Glendale has cemented its position as Rugbytown USA.
